Tianyu Yachts (Eastar)

Founded in 2018 at Pingsha in Zhuhai, inside the largest yacht industrial zone in China, Tianyu builds under its own brand — Eastar in English — and does not take OEM work. The production base runs to more than 35,000 m² with a stated annual capacity above 30 yachts.

The headline product is the TY560C, a 17.10 m (56 ft) power catamaran developed in-house and described as the only power catamaran in China holding a Class 2 seaworthiness certificate, which clears it to operate up to 200 nautical miles offshore. That certification, if confirmed, is a meaningful differentiator: it governs where the boat may legally be used, not merely how it is specified. The wider line spans a 38 ft sport model, a 58 ft Class 2 yacht, a 66 ft catamaran, a 72 ft, and a 100 ft unrestricted-navigation Class 1 explorer, extending to a 116 ft custom proposition.

The yard's emphasis is organisational rather than promotional. It stresses departmental structure and in-house control — quality inspection, procurement, finance and engineering as distinct functions — and argues that an independent system matters more than shared premises. Its own stated test of whether a Chinese yard is credible is whether it has a real engineering department: at least five chief engineers across machinery, hull, electrical and interior, operating as a system.
