Kingship Marine

A Hong Kong-based company founded in 2004 with its yard at Zhongshan port in the Pearl River Delta. It is described as the first builder in Asia specialising in superyachts with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, working in steel, aluminium and wood on custom explorer superyachts and motor catamarans up to 50 m.

The production facility spans more than 242,800 m², with capacity for up to seven hulls in build at a time. Early launches were expedition-type superyachts: the 33 m Expedition 110 and the 34 m Princess K, the first Magellan Explorer, engineered with Pieter Beeldsnijder of PB Design and with interiors by Luiz de Basto.

Metal-hull construction at this size is a materially different capability from the composite work that makes up most of China's yacht output, and places the yard in a very small domestic peer group. It is also reported as the first in Asia to build yachts in compliance with Lloyd's and MCA requirements.
